Derek Strum is a Chicago-area freelance writer. He received his bachelor of arts from Columbia College Chicago in 2006 with a major in journalism and a minor in fiction writing.
Derek has been writing for newspapers, websites and student publications for more than a decade. His work includes reporting and opinion writing with subjects such as film, sports and politics.
In his free time, Derek enjoys reading the newspaper, attempting to finish the accompanying crossword, and eating Ben & Jerry’s ice cream.
